Polly Lawrence

Polly Lawrence retired from coaching and teaching at ORR in 2018.  Her goal was to inspire to find their passion, understand what is required to achieve their goals, and hone their skills always with the needs of others in the back of their minds. Polly played field hockey at ORR and Mt. Ida. Her teams normally finished 1 or 2 in their league, often performing well in the post season.  Polly always brought out the best in her players and students. Polly was a great athlete and coach, she was a better human being.  Polly taught her kids to care for and respect those around them, teammates and opponents alike.  She was recognized, respected, and appreciated by those on her team and staff, and opponents.  She was So recognized that an award was created in her name, the Lawrence Legacy Award. She is very worthy of her position in the Old Rochester Regional Athletic Hall of Fame.
