Meri was a 12 season athlete for Old Rochester while collecting 4 MVP Awards. She played Volleyball all four years. She played basketball for three years and captained Old Rochester's inaugural indoor track season of 1985-86 her senior year. And where she really made her mark was the four seasons of spring track. 

 

Meri excelled at the hurdles and the high jump. She set school records in both the indoor and outdoor high jump, the 50 yard hurdles, the 100 yard and the 100 meter hurdles, the 300 yard hurdles and the shuttle hurdles. Meri was the team MVP her sophomore, junior and senior year of spring track as well as her winter season. She had top three finishes at the state divisional championships her sophomore and junior year. She missed states her senior year due to ligament damage from high jumping. 

 

She continued her track career at Boston University for 2 years before transferring to UMass Dartmouth to focus on nursing in which she is still involved today. Meri has also returned to coach track and cross country for many years at Old Rochester. This past 2021-22 season she coached two young ladies, Jen Williams and Maggie Brogioli, to break her own high jump record in the same meet. Meri set the bar high for her own success while being a driving force at Old Rochester.
