Mark Reeves began attending ORR as sophomore after moving to Rochester from Chicago where he attended Homewood Flossmoor High School. He instantly impacted ORR’s basketball team as he became a starter as a sophomore.  In his sophomore season he averaged double figures in points and became the team’s stopper on defense, often being asked to guard the other teams best player.  As a junior he averaged 17 points a game and often filled the stat book with double figures in rebounds and assists.  He played a significant roll in leading ORR to its first state championship in basketball.  He was also named a Standard Times all-star in his junior season.  In Mark’s senior season he was named captain of the team. He was the second leading scorer in Southeastern MA, he averaged 23pts a game.

He led the area in scoring up to the last game of the season when New Bedford’s Bobby Duarte had 49 pts to take a slight lead.  At the conclusion of Mark’s senior year, he was named to the Standard Times first team all star and was recruited by many Division 2 schools. Later on, Mark, was also named as Buddy Thomas’ top 20 players all time at ORR.  He decided to attend Northeastern University, a Division 1 school, where he made the team as a walk on. He was roommates with late Reggie Lewis and best man at Reggie’s wedding.

Mark decided to focus on his education and graduated from Northeastern before moving on and earning his Master’s degree at Framingham State University. Mark is the founder and CEO of New England Community Services. NECS provides life coaching, counseling, and other supports so that youth and parents have the best chance possible to become successful permanent members of their families and communities.
