Keith Pina, the athlete and 1989 Graduate of ORR, has got to be placed with a select highly recognized group of elite inductees who were all chosen to be captain of their respected squads in their senior year of each of the tree major sports they each participated in. In Keith’s case, in 1988-89, he captained the ORR Co-SCC Champion Football Team, the Boys Basketball Team, as well as the SCC Champion Boys Baseball Team for ORR that year.

Baseball Coach, Jack Eddy, remembers Keith as his “over 300 hitting leadoff hitter, whose speed on the bases was a constant threat to the opposing teams they faced.” His strong arm and speed made him an outstanding center fielder for the Bulldogs in his three years of varsity playing.

On the grid iron, Keith was a tailback on offense and maintained a corner position on the defense. His Coach, Craig Sherman, remarked about his extraordinary quickness and his ability to step out arms way on the playing field. It led the Bulldogs to a Co-Championship of the SCC. He was voted a SCC All Star in his senior year, a Boston Globe All Star and a New Bedford Standard Times All Star. He was chosen to represent ORRHS as its Otto Graham Finalist for 1989.
