Joan Walsh

Joan will always be remembered as a "Significant Contributor " to the ORR Sports Program in her tenure as superintendent at ORR.

Joan Walsh was Superintendent during times at Old Rochester Regional that were critical financially and developmentally for the region’s youth. During her 20 year tenure as Superintendent of the ORR District which started in 1978, funding for extras such as sports and the arts was hard to come by.  Also Title 9, a law that would require equal access to athletics for females as well as males, required development of new programs and staff in the district.  Joan fought hard to find fairness and funds that offered a new broad spectrum of programs for all our youth.  The accomplishments of Superintendent Walsh created an atmosphere in ORR that allows student athletes to continue to flourish to this day.
