In the late 60's, when ORR Girls Athletics began to flourish with new programs, Janet, emerged as major leader and role model of her peers.

Janet's passion for sports, her abilities to play and lead others and her willingness to be a team player over individual accomplishments triggered a path for others girl athletes to follow in making ORR Girls Athletics so sucessful today.

Janet played field hockey, basketball and ran track for 4 years  and she was chosen captain of the field hockey and basketball teams in her senior year. She lead her basketball team to ORR's first tournament bid in 1971.

In track she competed in the hurdles, high jump, and relays and was a member of the 1969 Narry League Girl's Track Champion Team.

In 1971, she received the DAR "Best All Around" Female Athlete Award.

Janet graduated from Springfield College with a degree in Physical Education.She is retired now from teaching high school . She and her husband Ed, live in Falmouth. They have two married daughters and three grandchildren.
