Alan Miner

Class of 2005
Alan Miner

Alan Miner left his mark on Old Rochester as a three-season student athlete, graduating in 2005. Al ran track, and played basketball, football, and soccer, but he was best known for his success on the baseball field. As a team captain in 2005, he pitched a perfect game, the first in Old Rochester’s history, which scored him a spot on the New Bedford Standard Times and South Coast Conference All-Star teams. He was also recognized by the Standard Times with the 2005 Leadership Award.

After graduation, Al attended Salem State University, where he studied Criminal Justice and graduated Phi Beta Kappa. Al was a four-year starting pitcher for the Vikings, leading the team to the NCAA Division III baseball tournament in 2008 as the team’s captain. He was named Salem State Male Student Athlete of the Year in 2008.

Alan has been employed by Gary Mills and Sons General Contracting as a carpenter for the past eleven years. He is well respected in  the community and by his peers and he participates in various charity events, 5k runs, and golf tournaments.

He currently lives in Fairhaven, close to his very supportive family, which includes his father, Alan Miner, Sr., mother, Kathleen, and sister, Kristen, all of Rochester.
