Jason “Fig” Figueiredo: Class of 1999

Jason “Fig” Figueiredo was one of the most talented all around athletes ever to play at ORR. Excelling at Football, Basketball and Baseball, Fig brought not only tremendous athletic ability but a great attitude, work ethic and leadership to the field or court. During his Basketball career, Jason was a 2 year starter and was a SCC honorable mention All-Star. His team was the South Sectional Champs

    His Baseball career included two years as an All-Star. Jason started in center field, lead off and batted .400. His senior year, the team won the SCC title. Jason’s football career was outstanding. Known as a fierce competitor, Coach Sherman describes Jason as “ The most gifted, natural “Pure” receiver he has ever seen at ORR.” He also excelled at safety where he had 5 interceptions. But receiver was where Jason belonged. His stats include 49 receptions, 14 touchdowns, and he led division 4 his senior year with 9 touchdowns.

Jason was recognized after the season by being selected as SCC all-Star, Standard Times All Scholastic, and received a league recommendation to the prestigious Shriners All-Star game.

Jason played two sports at Bridgewater State College, football and baseball, then went on to ITT got Associates degree in Computer Networking

Presently a Union "Journeyman" lineman, he resides with his wife Jessica and children, Jacob and Juliana, in New Bedford .
