High school athletic programs and youth sports organizations are rarely successful without the volunteer efforts of dedicated individuals who devote countless hours of their time and energy. Ted Drew is one of those individuals who has given much of himself for the betterment of ORR’s athletic programs and local youth sports.

A three sport athlete at ORR, Ted played football, golf and hockey and was captain and MVP of ORR’s hockey team. He recognized that playing sports can provide many benefits and opportunities for children and youth. Ted was one of the founders of the ORR Athletic Booster Club, an organization that has become integral to the success of ORR athletics. He volunteered for several foundations that supported girls’ soccer, track, and softball, and as a coach, he helped develop the skills of youngsters in local youth sports programs such as Mariner Youth Soccer and several youth hockey programs.

Ted was the recipient of Rochester Youth Hockey’s Slim Bernier Award for Outstanding Contributions to Youth Hockey Development. The ORR Athletic Hall of Fame recognizes and thanks Ted Drew for his significant contributions to Old Rochester Regional High School athletics.
