Miguel "Buster" Brito was a versatile multi-sport ORR athlete in the school's early years. As a sophomore, Buster was a starting end on the varsity football team and was MVP of the golf team.
His forte though was basketball. As a junior and senior varsity basketball player, Miguel led the Narragansett League in scoring (18.6 ppg. as a junior,and 22.3ppg. as a senior).
At that time Miguel held 10 ORR school records in basketball. His single game 41 points performances against Nantucket and again against Somerset were the pinnacle moments of his basketball career as an ORR bulldog.
Miguel was the Director of English as a Second Language for the U.S. Embassy in Portugal.
He taught school and coached football, basketball, and golf for over 25 years at St. George's School (RI),Thayer Academy, and the Dwight- Englewood School (NJ)
He is Currently Executive Director, CEO of Philip’s Education Partners
ED & Lead Founder, Philip’s Academy Charter School.
