From the time Tommy DeCosta was in eighth grade in 1966 until he graduated in 1970. He was an important member of the Old Rochester football, basketball, and baseball programs. He was given a special award for being the only ORR athlete to participate in three sports for five years.
He was a starter for three years in football and four years in basketball and baseball. Chosen MVP of ORR varsity Basketball and elected Capeway Conference All Star as a sophomore in 1968.
He was chosen "All League" in his junior and senior years in basketball, "All Suburban" in football. Tom married his high school sweetheart, Pat, he owned and operated Cape and Islands Plastering Company.
He helped coach ORR varsity football from 1991-99. Tom is on the Board of Directors for Mercy Meals and More which feeds homeless and poor in New Bedford. Tom is more than a great athlete representing ORR well in this HOF Class, he is class personified and a great role model at 6ft.6in!
