Thomas J. Dawicki was a 3 sport standout athlete  for ORR from 2000 thru 2003. In his senior year. In his senior year, ORR chose him as the school’s student nominee for competition for the recipient of the Otto Graham Achievement Award as the Outstanding Senior Student / Athlete from the South Coast Area High Schools.

Tom was a 2 way starter in football for three seasons. Noted as an exceptional running QB as well as good passing quarterback, Coach Craig Sherman, when asked about Tom’s running ability, highly noted  about a devised a series of plays strictly for Tom to call at the line of scrimmage as he saw fit involving a quarterback draw. “Lumski” was to the left and “Rumpski” to the right sent Tom off thru the defensive line of the opponent. 2002 Co-Captain quarterback Tom, along with lineman,  Brian Tonelli, were chosen 2002  Co-Players of the Year by the Standard Times. In the spring of 2003 Tom was chosen to play as well as be the Defensive Captain for the South Team in the prestigious Annual Shriner’s Football Game comprised of chosen football standouts from all around the Massachusetts communities.

 

Tom was a 3 year starter for ORR basketball as well as the 2002 and 2003 team captain. In the spring Tom ran track and was part of the SSC 4X100 winning relay team.

In 2003 Tom attended and played football at Bowdoin College. In 2005 Tom transferred and graduated from East Carolina University with a BS in Exercise Sports Science.

Today, Tom works as a North East Director for Endevis. He and his wife Nancy and daughter Sloane live in Trumbull Connecticut where they are expecting their second child in July 2018.

Standard Times Sports columnist, Buddy Thomas, chose Tom as #19 on the list of the 20 greatest Athletes to attend ORR in the last 50 years.

Congratulations Tom from the Old Rochester Regional Athletic Hall of Fame.
