Steve was the definition of a" textbook football tackle". His blocking and tackling skills as well as his knowledge of how to play the game
were priority topics of opposing coach's preparation clipboards on scouting reports of ORR  football in the late 60's.

His potential was seen at an early age. In his freshman year he practiced exclusively with the varsity to hone his natural abilities.
Starting the next three years he won accolades as a Capeway Conference All Star, Narry League All Star, and Boston Globe All Star Team in football. Steve played ORR basketball 4 years and lead the Bulldog baseball team in hitting over.350 while playing 1st base.
 
He alSteve Heath 2014so threw the shot put for the spring track team at home meets and was voted 'Best Spring Athlete"for his exploits in his senior year.
Recruited by several colleges, Steve chose Central Connecticut where he played football, was captain of the freshman team, started on the varsity in his sophmore and junior years before injuries ended his football career.
 
Steve worked for 35 years for the Southeastern Massachusetts Educational Collaborative as a cornerstone in a Behavioral Management approach to educating children with extensive behavior and social interaction problems from regional school districts.

He was on the origional ORR Alumni Association and the Mattapoisett Road Race Committee. He is an avid golfer and scuba diver
Steve and his wife Merry reside in Marion.
